Mahasthangarh

Bogura / Rajshahi

Mahasthangarh is the oldest and largest archaeological site in Bangladesh, dating back to at least the 3rd century BCE. Located 13 km north of Bogra city, this ancient capital of Pundravardhana was a significant urban center for the Mauryan, Gupta, and Pala dynasties. The site features a fortified citadel on the Karatoya River, a site museum, and surrounding ruins, offering a glimpse into early Bengal civilization.
